KCRW Top 30 Albums

Hi friends,

April is here, and LA is about to welcome an onslaught of talent to the Coachella Valley. Hopefully, some of you caught Fatboy Slim's takeover last Saturday night on KCRW. We're excited for him, Moby, the return of The xx, CMAT, Geese, and so many others. Check out our cheat sheet here, and expect many others to be included in the chart in the next two weeks.

 At the top:
  • Jungle – "Carry On" [Single] – The debut single from one of our favorite acts of the past decade remains at the top of the chart for the second week in a row after announcing their fifth album and a global tour.

  • RIO KOSTA – "Unicorn" – Speaking of that global tour, they've added the local favorites, Rio Kosta, as support. Their album from last year was definitely one of the best, and it's now climbing back up the charts at #7 (moving up eight spots). We're excited to share a live session with them at KCRW later this month. Stay tuned!!

 New & Notable
  • JuJu Rogers – "Elohim" [Single] – The German-based rapper/trumpeter's new single has become an instant hit, debuting at #5 and featuring Chicago soul luminary Jamila Woods. You can hear the influence of his transatlantic upbringing of soul, jazz, and punk coming through on this one. This is part of his first album in five years, titled Pink Guitars, Spaceships N Voodoo Dolls.

  • Sam Fender – People Watching (Deluxe) – The UK musician has won back-to-back Brit Awards as best alternative rock act and received airplay from us since 2017. However, his song of the year win, "Rein Me In," featuring best new artist Olivia Dean, is finally making waves in the states — debuting on the Billboard chart at #77 and now on our chart at #15. Check out Sam's great chat with Novena Carmel last week on MBE as our special guest, talking about a song for his teenage crush, and music that inspired him to dream bigger outside his small town in North Shields.
