Prolific LA-via-Baltimore brother duo The South Hill Experiment have arrived in 2025 with what might be their funkiest single yet. And in its second week of being out in the world, “Open Ocean” has catapulted to no. 1 on KCRW’s Top 30 Chart. The track hits the spot during these chilly days, reminding us that summer hours spent frolicking in the sea are just around the corner. With core duo Baird and Gabe Acheson applying their yearning vocals to the skin-tight grooves of the track, it’s poised to make you cry (in a good way) on the dance floor. Poolside fans especially should take heed… and rejoice — the S/H/E’s third LP EARTHBREAKS is due on March 21st.
