KCRW Top 30 Albums
Hi friends,

We're still reeling from the powerful Bad Bunny halftime performance, with so many thoughtful messages and cameos, including Highland Park's very own Villa's Tacos, and he also made an impact on our charts at #3.  Keep an eye out for the indie Puerto Rican quartet Chuwi, who nearly made this week's chart, supporting Bad Bunny on tour and making a stop at the Roxy onApril 23rd. You may have heard J Dilla's "Donuts" this past week as the seminal hip hop record turned 20. Speaking of anniversaries, Fleetwood Mac's Rumours turned 49 this past week. We also continue to mourn the loss of the legendary pioneering Ghanaian highlife musician Ebo Taylor, who passed away at 90 years old. His music will continue to be celebrated on our airwaves. Were any of you lucky enough to see his last performance at The Ford last year?

 At the top:
  • SAULT – Chapter 1UK collective finds its new year surprise release at the top for the second straight week. We can't decide on our favorite track, with even spins between "Fulfil Your Spirit", "Protector", and "Good Things Will Come After the Pressure," which all sound like the right music medication for these trying times.

New & Notable:

  • Arlo Parks – "Heaven" [Single] – No surprise that the English alternative singer-songwriter debuts at #2 with her new single, inspired by an early morning DJ set from her friend Kelly Lee Owens under the bridge at her favorite LA rave. This one is a treat for a night out or just as you get your day started.

  • Dina Ögon – Människobarn – the fourth album from Swedish dream-pop, retro-soul act debuts at #5. We are currently loving the latest single "Du tappa dä" which gives Fleetwood Mac vibes and an epic chorus that will put a smile on your face.

Trending Upwards:

  • Tyler Ballgame – For The First Time, AgainThe stunning debut album from the LA singer moves up nine spots to #7.  Stay tuned for a special visit from Tyler in the near future.
