LAUGH: Stand Up for KCRW

The first one was so fun we wanted a second! Join host J.F. Harris at The Comedy Store for another night of stand-up comedy featuring a pretty stellar lineup – Sheng Wang, Robby Hoffman, Beth Stelling, Alex Falcone, and a still-to-be-announced special guest. All ticket proceeds will directly support KCRW and unlock one year of KCRW Membership and all the benefits that come with it.

JAM: Leimert Park Sunday Jazz at The World Stage

It’s the fourth Sunday of the month, which means the Leimert Park Sunday Jazz concert series is back! Hosted at The World Stage, a pioneering performance art space in Leimert Park, this one-hour set, one-hour jam session is a fun way to hear local emerging jazz artists, or join in! All ages welcome. Jazz is for everyone. 

EAT: Dine LA Restaurant Week

Dine LA Restaurant Week is back on Jan. 23rd to lure you away from cooking! Enjoy special prix fixe lunch and dinner menus at hundreds of local restaurants across LA. It’s a good excuse to try a new place in a neighborhood you rarely go to or the one down the street that you’ve yet to try. Then let us know where you went and if you recommend it.

STROLL: Dog Walking Hours at South Coast Botanic Garden

Dog Walking Hours are back this Sunday, Jan. 25th, at South Coast Botanic Garden! Guests are invited to bring their pups for a stroll throughout 87 acres. That will tire them out! Dogs must be on leashes while on Garden property. Advanced reservations are required. If you’re looking for a meet-cute this kind of seems like the perfect place.

GO: Pokemon Night at Benny Boy Brewing (Jan. 25th)

Pokemon go to the…brewery. There are some places that have a knack for throwing a good event and Benny Boy Brewing is one of those places. So when we saw they were throwing a nostalgic throwback to Pokemon, complete with a live DJ, trivia, marketplace, and BBQ, we thought this actually sounds like a lot of fun. Free entry. 21+.
