Driving doesn’t always have to be a slog in LA. Try this for a date night: hop in your car, grab some food to go, turn on Eclectic 24 or your favorite podcast (with the KCRW app), and journey along Mulholland Drive for some scenic views. Then, stop along the way at iconic lookout points for a hood-of-your-car hangout. Just be sure to drive responsibly!
If you’re not up for a drive, how about a ride? LA’s Beach Bike Path is a 22-mile coastline bikeway that hugs our favorite coastline and provides views, sunshine, and good vibes along the way. Dust off your cruisers, cycling bikes, blades, skates, and other modes of people-powered transport and soak in the beginnings of the summer sun. Pick a point along the way to lie out on the beach. Sunscreen, shades, water, and snacks are a must. And if you want a chill detour, check out the city’s famous Venice Canals for a walk through Europe in your backyard.
