Kate Bollinger - "Shop Girl"

Kate Bollinger captured hearts, minds, and a significant slice of radio waves around these parts with her debut back in 2024, pairing laid-back optimism with a vintage-wearing hipster flair. Now, the indie singer-songwriter has traded her femme-cool vocals for something decidedly more theatrical. "Shop Girl" is the single and EP — a collection of “songs from an imagined musical.” Give it a whirl, and you’ll hear that description is quite accurate. Take your seat for act one.

Dahi - “How To Pray” ft. Kendrick Lamar, Amber Mark

Feeling low on sheer vibe? Dahi got you. Not only does the Inglewood DJ, songwriter, producer, and vocalist, whose government name is Dacoury Dahi Natche, lay an absolutely delectable instrumental blend under the vocals on this track, but the vocals employed include none other than Kendrick Lamar and Amber Mark. This track presents excellence like it’s a regular Tuesday thing. Don’t overlook the video concept: the split-screen tells two different stories, so two viewers are meant to put their phones together to watch each assembled as whole.

untitled (halo) - “aimee lou wood freestyle”

This track sounds like cybersigilism looks. Which makes sense — the creative result of effervescent youth, the creative collaboration of four LA friends restlessly and excitedly filling what they saw as a gap in the LA music scene. untitled (halo) call themselves “emotional people in need of sonic catharsis,” and aren’t we all, but this single and its moody video companion capture the dread of our digitally bound times in a way that’ll make you feel extra seen.

Actress - “Overchord”

This transportive single from Actress, the project of UK producer Darren Cunningham, is as much a futuristic composition as it is a song for a playlist or set. Blending piano keys with sounds that seem from another galaxy and introducing gorgeous vocals only to chop them up into fractional notes later down the line, this song may challenge conventions, but it’s still perfectly suited to soundtrack peaceful or contemplative moments… click play to find solace in the unknown and unknowable.

Nate Mercereau - “Accelerator”

Awwww yess. This one’s for every dude who ever spent way too long inside a Guitar Center (dude is a gender neutral term, btw, so don’t come for us). Long-haired shredder Nate Mercereau sits lakeside and proceeds to blow your mind in this near eight-minute continuous live performance of "Accelerator," a pulsating, grimace-inducing, guitar-led composition that is somehow designed to satisfy your wildest needs and drive you mad at the very same time. Trust us, click through, and you’ll never be the same. Lucky us: Fantastic Thoughts is out September 11th.
