It’s your Summer Nights Field Guide captain and KCRW DJ, Tyler “Boogie” Boudreaux, here. No Summer Nights events are planned for this weekend, but did you see the great news?! This week, we announced the addition of a new KCRW DJ: Tana Yonas, aka passionfruit.wav!

We’re not only excited to welcome Tana and her impeccable taste to the airwaves, but we’re also stoked she’ll be making her KCRW events debut at the Members-Only Summer Nights coming up August 8th at LACMA! Expect her to spin groovy rhythms from around the globe in the opening slot before you hear hot beats from the legendary turntablist, DJ Cut Chemist. Of course, there’s gonna be after-hours access to the museum, and I highly encourage you to take your time while exploring the newly opened David Geffen galleries. Just for funsies, here’s KCRW’s Tohar Zamir giving a sneak peek walkthrough for the KCRW Culture Club TikTok.

You have to be a member to get an invite, so donate now to make sure you get your personalized RSVP code when invitations go out on Thursday. Our Summer Nights at LACMA will def reach its RSVP capacity quickly! In fact, most of the parties we’ve thrown this summer reached capacity, so it’s best to get them in ASAP for all the ones coming up.

Seriously, every weekend I turn around and another Summer Nights dance floor is packed. We've danced with the fishes at Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, traveled back to prehistoric LA at the Tar Pits, watched J.Rocc absolutely light up CAAM, partied through ASU FIDM Museum, splashed around at Kidspace, and closed out last weekend with a buzzing crowd at Hauser & Wirth.

The best part? It's been seeing all of you show up. Friends bringing friends. Families making memories. Strangers becoming dance partners. That's the magic of Summer Nights.

One little heads-up from your girl, though: RSVP early. Our members-only kickoff at Maydan Market filled up almost immediately, and most of the parties since have reached capacity. I'd hate for you to miss out because you waited until the last minute.

We're only halfway through the season, and there are still so many good nights ahead. So grab your RSVP, bring your favorite people, and I'll meet you on the dance floor.
